February, 2013 LOG: Trooper James Ryan

Trooper James P. Ryan

Trooper James P. Ryan

It has been said Jim Ryan was the TOUGHEST SON OF A GUN THAT EVER WORE A STATE POLICE UNIFORM. Jim graduated from Southey High at the beginning of WW I . The Marines did not want him because at six foot two and over two hundred pounds he was too big! When he walked into the Army Recruiter’s office they saw a good thing and signed him up, he was trained as a Calvary Trooper. In France Jim served with the “Fighting 17th” with distinction and was honored many
times.
